Canon MP610 results lack punch

Permajet are probably one of the best - if not THE best - suppliers of fine art printing paper. Obviously Canon (or indeed Epson) are not in the business of including ICC profiles within their software that are suitable when using third party papers etc. Anyone serious about their printing and using specialist papers will only use ICC profiles supplied by the paper manufacturer. And of course you wouldn't have to send off a print every time you used a different paper as I would suggest that most users of specialist papers perhaps only have 2/3 favourites and with the printer/ink remaining the same only 2/3 ICC profiles would be required. I suppose a lot depends upon how seriously/critical one is as regards printing.

In the case of the OP, the profiles have already been supplied for that printer matching the paper selected and on the assumption that OM inks are used so no further action should be necessary. I wonder, when choosing the option of allowing Photoshop to manage the colours the OP has NOT unchecked ICM to be found under the Printer Preferences > Main tab > Colour Intensity > Manual > and then deselecting ICM.

You're welcome and pleased to have been of some help. Colour management and, perhaps more importantly, the interaction between various applications, can be somewhat of a minefield on occasions - I know - I've filled a few waste baskets with wasted print paper myself in the past.

I am keen to experiment with some nicer quality paper.

In a word - non LOL. I only used Permajet as an example due to their reputation and because other forum members appear more than pleased with their products - ABERS for one. As he popped into this thread not long ago perhaps he will do so again and will no doubt be in a much better position to advise you.
