Lenses for 450D

Have above camera and supplied lens.

I have now added three additional lenses these being,

1. EF70-300mm F4-5.6 IS USM.

2. EF-S18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS.

3. EF-S60mm f/2.8 MACRO USM.

I am a enthusiastic starter and bought the above to give me a good range in the lens department.

Can the Advanced Shooters tell me if I have made the right choices ??

All lenses are CANON as I like to stick with original Manufacturer of camera.

It's hard to say without knowing why you chose what you did, and what your objectives are.

I understand buying the 70-300 to add to the 18-55 but I have never seen the point in havnig an 18-200 style lens as well. Cover it in 1 lens or use 2 but why have 3 lenses to cover that range?!

Otherwise it seems pretty sensible!

don't think camera think lenses the camera will change but if you buy good lenses ( L glass for example ) they will stay
iv'e been through the cheap lens faze and it's expensive cos your not going to keep them as you progress

keep the macro sell the other 2 and put the money towards a 70 - 200 L lens which one is up to you that all down to the deph of your pocket
some time in the future buy a 24 - 70 F2,8 L ( great walkabout lens ) a 50mm 1.8 or 1.4 if you have deep pockets and whatever other prime L glass that take your fancy and you will never ask another question about lenses again because you'l have as good as it gets

Cosmica has it well covered, I would add to that two other potentials depending on what you want to shoot, 10-20mm wide angle and a macro lens.

I have a 100mm canon macro and love it, it doubles up as an excellent portrait lens as well.

I do see the point in 18-200 if you want to take the camera out not knowing what you are going to find without having to carry another lens or change lenses although that is a bit of a luxury

Generally I would suck it and see over time you will find certain directions you want to focus on (pardon the pun) and that is the time to get new lenses.

Another consideration is if you want to try a type of shooting is to hire a lens.

Sorry very late getting back to this.

The 18-55 came with the camera and was not overly impressed with it,decided to add the 70-300 for zoom range.A little later needed a wide angle so combined that with quite a decent zoom as well,and as the price was excellent being a new one decided that this would be a good general purpose lens.
