You might want to send Ian Kerr an email - ( kerso1123atmsn.com ....replacing at with @). He runs an ebay shop (Flash Camera) here http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/FLASH-...__W0QQ_armrsZ1 although most of his stock is not listed on the ebay site. If you contact him privately he's able to offer you a much better deal due to saving on commission charges etc. Very reliable person, lives and ships out of Scotland and payment can either be made by collecting the item personally, bank transfer, cheque or PayPal. All items are brand new with guarantee. I should add that I am not involved with Ian in any way other than as a satisfied customer having now purchased several items from him.

Edit: included within the package for the last item that I ordered from him (Canon Speedlite) he included a price list of his most popular selling items. It included the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM which flake mentioned in another thread of yours. Ians asking price is GBP689. For comparison purposes, Warehouse Express (another popular and reliable seller) have it advertised for GBP918. That at least gives you some sort of idea of the saving to be made although as flake intimates, this can be had as a kit lens so will probably work out cheaper than camera and lens bought as seperate items.

Go to Camera price buster www.camerapricebuster.co.uk it will show you the lowest price shop in the uk.
its like a compare the market sight (No meercats though SIMPLES) for photography gear but you will always get a good deal on ebay just always read the small print so you know what you are buying.

Good luck

Second vote for Ian. I've purchased things from him in the past and the service and product have been excellent. Well worth a quick email!

I'd like to ask what your budget is David? The reason for this is the thousands of options which are available from the 50mm f1.8 which can work well on the 5D MkII all the way through to the more exotic stuff. The 5D MkII comes kitted with the 24 - 105mm IS L at a discounted price, and if this is in your budget it's well worth considering it as you will then have most of the popular focal lengths covered.

Wharehouse Express are selling this at £2375 which is very competetive, in fact I couldn't find anything cheaper in a quick search.

Bear in mind that the 5D MkII has no built in flash so you will struggle in low light, the IS on the kit lens will allow you to take photos which wouldn't otherwise be possible.
