Whose Online Question

When viewing 'whose online' I notice the following entries:

Google AdSense Spider
MSNBot Spider
AskJeeves Spider
Google Spider
Yahoo Slurp Spider

Would someone from the team kindly explain what these are exactly and how they work. Is it a case of these search engines (?) automatically seeking keywords attached to images? Thanks.

Hi Forseti,

This appears to be search engines "spidering" the site for specific keywords, yes. I'm told it happens to every page on the internet too, but it's appearing in the whose online bit in ours today.

Ok Amy.......I've got spiders in the lounge also. I thinks it's probably got something to do with the cold and snow outdoors.
