Multiple Flash Use

Hi, we want to take photos of some small objects that will be up for sale on our new website. We have tried to take photos but not getting enough light (the background is coming out too dark). We are using a tent and photography lamps. We know that using more than one flash will probably make a big difference. We are on a budget and don't want/need anything fancy. We are not entirely sure what we need so I am hoping for some help. We want 3 flashes (one on the camera and two others). Am I right in thinking the only other thing we will need is a trigger set of some sort so all the flashes go off together?

If you are using a tent and light then I would have thought there would be enough light.

rather than invest in more light why not get the camera on a tripod and just use a slower shutter speed

Other option would be to put a reflector in the tent .Even a sheet of card with tin foil would help bounce the light back .

It would help if you give us an idea of the camera you use ,and settings you are using at the moment.

Hi, we have a Canon DS6041. We have the camera on a tripod but still not enough light.

That is an Eos 300d in Europe .

Up the iso setting a bit .Canons own flash guns will cost .

wireless flash triggers will cost .

Window light will not .You may even be better scrapping the light tent which although diffusing the light will be robbing you of light too.

If you are shooting static subjects for the web then just go manual on the camera set a longer shutter speed and you will get the light .

ok thanks, have tried same set up without tent and didn't make a difference. Will try the speed and see if thats works. We were only going to buy 2 budget flashes which new are £10 each and the triggers which were about £20.
