Problems with viewing videos on DC discs

I wonder if anyone could help me out, or has anyone had the same problem. I have often watched the video tutorials on the DC discs and had no problems. None of the 90 numbers work, I get the sound for the tutorial but no image. I have just updated Quick Time Player and the problem is still there. I have been on the Futurenet/support and updated the DVD driver which was recommended. Some of the numbers 60, 80 and 70 work of the random ones I have tried. I am hoping I don't have to check each disc now as I receive it. I hope it is just some setting on my computer which I can check? I am running XP SP3.
I would be grateful for any replies
Regards

You might want to try this. Open QT, go to Preferences > QT Preferences > Advanced and under Video place a check mark next to Safe Mode and then try your videos once again.

Personally, to say that I detest QT would be to put it mildly which also appears to be a widely held view upon reading various forums. Every time there was an update it appeared to mess something else in my system up which is what prompted me to search around the web for matters relating to QT. In the end (and we're going back a while now) I gave up on QT altogether and installed VLC media player which comes highly recommended, is free, and plays back just about every format you throw at it. They do ask for donations (which you are not obliged to do of course) but you might want to consider downloading and installing it and if thoroughly satisfied donating a small sum.

QT on a PC is notoriously problematic, on a Mac though it's sooo simple, stable and reliable but then you'd expect that.

I would definitely recommend VLC, I think all computers, Mac's PC's (running Windows and Linux) should have it installed. I've lost count of the number of times it's saved my bacon. It just works!

I am going to try what you suggested first and if it doesn't rectify the problem I am going to try VLC, many thanks for both replies. I only have quick time as it downloads alongside iTunes.

Many thanks for the suggestion, I have changed the preferences in QT and it works. I have bookmarked VLC to download as well.

[Sigh!] Anyone know why the later vids won't run in Realplayer 11 or Windoze Media player 10?

Going through my big stack of DCMAG CDs and all of a sudden later *.MOV versions won't display video - though audio is ok. Just like many people seem to get on the web site.

I don't want to install more players like QT etc.

Cheers,
Neil

If anyone else interested;

I had to download and install Quicktime free player from Adobe website. Realplayer could then handle DCMAGs version of *.mov.

If you have to do the same, don't expect anything fantastic for all your effort - just the same quality videos and same old facilities guys and gallls - justwasted time!
