3rd Party Lens Hoods

Has anyone ever had a problem with a thrid party lens hood? I balked at paying £34 plus p&p for the Canon ET67B for my EF-S 60mm macro; found it on Amazon for £4 made by Marumi. Other than the Canon logo, i can't forsee any differences (its hard plastic after all) but thought i'd ask the question, just as a matter of course.

So long as it's the same dimensions and the plastic is a decent quality it should be fine. The only other thing is a matt finish on the inside, as a reflective surface could cause flare. The other thing that Canon lenses hoods allow is the removal of the lens cap with the hood in place, to do this they are quite wide. If this is important to you, make sure that it is wide enough (the Sigma ones don't allow this)
