heres my take on this weeks competition:

The image is from kellingtons St Edmunds Church in north yorkshire.

Taken this morning, i shot 3 images and combined to make this HDR.

Parts of the church have been rebuilt and restored throughout its history once because of a nasty attack of wood worm.
You can also see some of the newer and the older gravestones in the foreground, this picture to me demonstrates how the church has evolved throughout its history.

Aaaaaaaagh! I've tried uploading my picture to the gallery and it wouldn't appear, now it's saying something like' illegal operation, contact admins'. Will have to put quick static one from Flickr on for now, but will put a clickable one up tomorrow.

Awful light today - so dull and overcast - So I ended up going with a relatively long exposure (which was probably much faster than that used for older Sepia portraiture) colour shot before converting it to the warm mono tone, and then I touched in with some 'colour painting' using layers (as the more well to do people may have commissioned in the past as an expression of their wealth) in an effort to add some wow.

Nice work Forseti. Don't worry about stealing jinky's ideas; I did an edible picture last weekend.

I've been struggling to come up with something all weekend. Took a few shots about the place yesterday and so have a standby image just in case I am unable to complete what I've just thought of.

Mine wasn`t a phot of an old photo though - misled you with my title I think which i`ll change. It was actually a photo of a re-enacted scne in a local museum I shot on Friday which I turned into an old picture - so all elements were taken over the weeknd.
I have to ask if a picture of an old snap meets the rules of the comp as the original was not taken over the course of the weekend but hey... what do I know.

If it is a genuine photograph of a photograph and not scanned in image, I would say that's fair entry unless scanners are regarded as digital cameras - I really love looking at very old family shots, the expressions, the clothes and circumstance say so much.

I love old family photos too and this ones a nice one - just not sure it`s a good preceden to set. we`ll be having pictures of pictures of all sort of exotic locations in coming weeks. Happy to go with majority view though and at least the plus is it`s one of F`s own family album of shots which makes a bit of a difference
