Shooting moving water

Hi, a two parted question.

A friend and I are planning to go on a day's shoot and both want to capture some scenic shots of moving water, but are struggling to think of any locations within a reasonable drive. We're both in the South East London/Surrey area. Ideally more towards the natural stream and waterfall than weirs side of things.

Any suggestions for locations?

And finally, we both fancy trying that effect of making the water a milky mist - any tips from those who have been there done that.

Reduce your shutter speed down to around 1s or slower, depending on how fast the water is moving. Depending on how bright it is you may need to use filters to get the speed slow enough - using a very narrow aperture can also do the trick, but after around f/11 - f/13 you'll start to suffer from diffraction. A circular polariser will slow the shutter down by approximately 2 stops as well as allowing you to get rid of reflections from water spray and droplets on leaves etc. If you need more then you'd need to use a neutral density filter.
