It was a difficult choice for me this week. The rosehip, jinky's icicle and the moss were my favourites. I decided on the moss because for me it just had the edge.

Looking at the voting so far, and considering previous victories, jinky certainly seems to have caught the zeitgeist of this constituency.

I think this goes to show that everybody's idea on what constitutes the best photograph is different.

I can appreciate what has already been said about the photographs mentioned but for me I had to choose between Ogga, Del and Jinky and Jinky just pipped it.

Thanks to the two guys that voted for my pic so far. Trying to get back into the saddle after about a year away from entering these comps. Better luck next time.

Lake at Painshill. A nice winter scene with an almost fairytale appeal. With the eye being drawn to the folly feature on the hill, it is a shame that this detail appears askew making things very difficult in way of obtaining a perfect pictorial composition without image manipulation.

More Snow on the Way. A nice composition and one of my favorites.

To my choice this week from a very strong list in entries, Jinky's icicle. I guess it is a photographers foresight to spot the various possibilities towards a great image, and if it had been cloudy mornings over the three days, perhaps the Dew on Moss may have won the day.

Great pictures all round.

Thumbs up

Nice one Jinky, a well deserved win and it got my vote. I really liked the colours and the sharpness if the icicle.

It was a close decision this week, all the pictures were a really high standard.

In Unison - a really nice picture and excellent shutter pressing to capture the two drips, good depth of field that made the icicles stand out from the background.

Waiting for warmer times - a really good sharp image with lots of detail. I like the way the watering can spouts lead you into the picture. Maybe it's only me but the watering cans look sad , like they are waiting for warmer times.

Carol, thank you for the vote. It boosted my confidence as this picture was my first real go at landscapes (ish) and shouldn't have been my entry, I had other plans for that but............

Mike.

Thanks for so many votes again. As HinFrance says I seem to be on a run during the winter months here which will probably come to an end this week(the run rather than the wiinter). Whilst not getting out of my jimjams to take the shot it took some effort balancing on chairs and taking loads of shots trying to get the effect I was after before the dawn light went. The f22 stop use certainly highlighted my need to get out my arctic butterfly for it`s inaugural use on my dusty sensore screen!

Reviews:
Delamanda`s Soda water Refraction
Nice colourful idea using water properties but cut into a little by showing so much of the glass. Wonder if it might be better going in closer and losing that top edge of glass or going out and using the curve / tops of the pencils?

Chriscraft - Snowy Rose
Nie splash of colour in the snow but lots to distact too such as the two twigs in front. A few pegs to hold them away or going in closer might have helped but you were probably up to your knees in snow. Difficult to know wha to look at with no real clear subject.

What got my vote / attention. Voted for jonce400d`s Dew on Moss. Great depth of field use and patterns of water drops. Got my vote narrowly ahead of HinFrance`s beautifully iced oak leaves and oggalily`s Painshill Lake, Lots of other good ones too made it a wide range to choose from.

I`ll try and think of a good topic for the weekend now to keep up the momentum of entrants andlook for another strong field.
Well done all.

Well done Jinky! You've done it again! A supberb shot.

Thanks for the two votes for my sad watering cans

More Snow on the Way - michaelb104
Got my vote - I found the whole picture pleasing, it is sharp and has good contrast. The sky really looks like it's about to throw out more of the white stuff.

Crown - iRebel
Very well caught - would have fitted well into the droplets comp over on CC. I've never had a go at this, I should image a lot of patience is necessary. Well done !

Congratulations Jinky, a superb image, and well done to everyone else for giving him some stiff competition. Sad to see whinging about who we vote for, one reason the voting is transparent is to make the comp honest.

Looking forward to this weeks challenge.

Well done jinky on yet another victory. We might have to ban you if you keep this up.

Thanks to the kind souls who popped a couple of votes my way.

Above: Angii – Water Under the Bridge.
Sorry Bruce, your picture didn't call to me this weekend. I think it would have been somewhat enlivened if there were more lights on, particularly in the large building to the left. As it is the central pier of the bridge is the main focal point, and I wonder if turning the camera slightly to the right and zooming/cropping in a little closer might have given it a bit more dynamism.

Below: Dayleigh – Keeping it Clean.
Difficult to critique other than on composition as I can't click for a large version. The slightly grey tint really shows just how shiny and clean this shower head is. You have captured the water droplets particularly well in the first frame. I think to make an effective diptych of this subject identical framing would have been better, perhaps a tad closer in?
