@bsmith
when i get a bit of free time i will have another go at them
@dk79
the first photo ( mathew ) i think you've overcooked it espesially the eyes i prefer eyes to look a little more natural
it looks like your trying to give a glamour ( studio ) look and to be honest it's not what the photo's about i like the softness of the skin and the mood the shadows provide the right side of the face has been lightend a little too much loosing some of the detail
we all have different tastes there's nothing wrong with the enhancements you have made there just not to my personal taste
the second photo is a different kettle of fish i think you've done some great work on sue ( the girl on the left ) with levels and the eyes are quite an improvement too
the girl on the right ( my niece) i think youv'e brought the levels up a little too much making her slightly out of balance with sue
i didn't mention this before but the girl on the right ( my niece ) is nearly blind ( albinism ) which also gives her a very pale complection the colour you see in her skin is partially me in photoshop and the reflection of the brick but her eyes allways look a little off to me so i tend not to highlight them too much because of this
everybody has different ideas on how photo's should look personally with children i like a subtle look for me it's more natural there's nothing wrong with your enhancements in fact some of the things you gave done are pretty good but overall i think you have gone a little too far and are strting to look like a studio portrait which in it's self is great if thats what your looking for
thanks for taking the time to have a go at the photo's and i will take on board the enhancements i like
