This is almost impossible to answer as bags are personal things. I've had loads including Lowepro Slingshots, Tamrac Expeditions, Lowepro Nature Trekker etc.

Finally I seem to have got 2 bags which suit me. I use a Crumpler Muffin Top 7500 shoulder bag which is very good indeed and shows no signs of wear or damage and I don't treat it especially kindly.
I also have a Kata DP-465 rucksack which is excellent.

You don't day what sort of kit you're carrying but I can get my D90 (with grip), 10-20, 18-105, 70-300 and 35mm f/1.8 into both bags along with a remote release and a couple of filters etc etc.

As for segregation, they all have moveable inserts so you can adjust them to fit your equipment.
