I agree with Mark, I just looked up the D90, and it's a nice camera. I don't think that either the D5200 or D7000 is a massive jump for you. Maybe the new D600 is the step that you should be considering, although do a be of research into it, as I did see some reviews expressing concern about the self cleaning not doing a great job, results in "spots" appears pretty rapidly on the CMOS.
