Just got a D3100 with the 18-55mm lens with Photoshop Elements 11 for editing, after upgrading from a point and shoot and I'm loving the freedom and creativity I now have, just need to improve my skill to match the cameras abilities

Looked for a good Nikon based mag and found NPhoto and am hooked immediately, looking forward to future issues .
My question is this, reading Feb '13's issue of NPhoto Apprentice article "Shooting the city lights" Tom Mackie said he had a app for the iPhone/iPad called "Photo Ferret" which has photogenic locations, best time of the year to go there etc. with links to Google Maps. I have looked everywhere, the App Store, online, I've asked local photo specialist shops and I cannot find information about it anywhere.
Could someone please at least point me in the right direction to be able to find more information about this app.
