I'm assuming no one here has Manager Rights to the Facebook page?
Personally I'd recommend adding the competitions as an Event on the FB page, that way it'll get significantly higher exposure & likely to attract more participants.
Posting on the page as an individual is all well & good, however the downside to that is your post gets moved to the small section on the RHS & often ignored.
