on a side note...
when canon developed the EOS system they also introduced a series of lenses to compliment them. the lenses that were introduced to go with the new EOS cameras were made exceptionally good quality for their time but with a reasonable price tag to entice the buying public to buy canon
it was literaly a success or bust situation for canon so they couldn't afford to fail having just made every canon FD lens and their owners redundant to future purchases
so... what this means is if you can find any of the original series of the canon EF lenses they tend to sell for not a lot of money and you get yourself a nice lens accordingly
not as good as L glass granted but usually better than anything that you could buy at the same price
