I think my mistake with bracketing, is I just set my camera up to take three exposures - one stop under, one stop over and one normally exposed. When what I should be doing (especially if there is sky involved) is take an exposure reading of the sky and then another reading of the foreground, and then set the bracketing accordingly.

Does that sound right?
