Started work in Jan 1950, smallest neg was 9x12cm Plate camera, VN & a Goertz. Kodak Half Plate Specialist, was used for commercial work, as were 2 10x8 sheet film/plate cameras, (which I still have). A wedding on a dreich Nov. day, taking a close up, Bride and Groom, depth of field was measured in inches, and, no help. Distance, and exposure was was estimated. I had the camera with 12 plates, no more. On a Sat, was expected to earn my wage, £5, via National newspapers publications, they paid £1.10p if used. On several occasions had all 12 used, no extra pay!! By local standards I was well paid. Apart from transparencies, never used 35mm, for anything. Mamiya press 23, 120 roll film, 8 on, was eventually used, color wise, for weddings, still have it also. Ed.
