As Mark said, it's hard to comment on something when we don't know what it is. One thing I noticed, particularly in the first photo, was the light source from the left, was shining into the lens. A lens hood is a good thing to use under the circumstance.

I'm not sure about your photos being macro. In my mind, a zoom lens is not suitable for that kind of work. It's a close-up, for sure, but not really true macro. I know some zooms have a "macro" label on them, but, again in my opinion, a true macro lens is a prime lens and more regarded as having 1:1 magnification.
