It would help if you said what type of photos you like taking. You say you could use you collection of D70 lenses, but most of them are DX, which means you can't use the full frame of an FX camera.
If you have a collection of FX lenses, and you aren't into action shots, then consider the Nikon D800 but you will need a fast computer and plenty of harddisk space, as the Jpeg file are about 20mb, the NEF between 40mb to 50mb and Tiffs are 105mb.
