You're right, Mark! Had I given it a thought to arrange other leaves to contrast with the purple one, I would have done. I actually liked the juxtaposition of the pine needles. Two photos would have been in order, here. The photo as it stands would have been better if I had revealed the whole leaf, too.

After two hours of kayaking, and an hour's walk through the forest I wasn't in much of a mind to rearrange leaves, but I would have if it had come to mind. After the long trek through the forest I found myself on the long gravel road that led back to my truck. I didn't know that the trail would lead to that point, and I wasn't particularly thrilled about that being on that road, but I still kept an eye open for something interesting, and that leaf caught my eye. I will be there again as soon as I get the chance, but I doubt any leaves will still be holding their bright colors.

Colours... colors... hey, I've been in the states for 34 years and it took me 30 of those years to get used to writing "color" instead of "colour."
