I really like it, it shows how spontaneous a child can be and think it is a lot more than a familly snapshot, I love the processing and with the car in the background almost give it a film set feel. One suggestion is to do some PP and remove the poles and chains from the background which could give it a less show feel.
I agree with the others and it can be easy to get bogged down by getting a shot to show off to everyone with correct lighting, composition nice background etc for me though photography is about capturing the moment as best you can, sometimes you don't get time to compose the shot perfectly as in a blink it is over.
I have lots of photos of my daughter which technically make me cringe however I love those shots as the bring back good memories and make me and familly members smile, those photos are for our familly and not a wider audience. I guess we need to think back to when we use to look at our familly photos, on poor quality poloroids etc how often did I say but dad the skies blown out or why have you broken the rule of thirds
