I used to stress about lighting etc when I was trying to capture my kids and then this year I suddenly realised it had stopped me from taking photos. Now I don't stress and I take loads more pictures and I have some good ones and some bad ones but they are all memories.
I really like this shot, I love her expression and the colour to it. Why blur out the background - it reminds you of where you were and what happened. You captured it and that's the main thing. Our kids dont grow up in studios and when they look back are they going to say mum/dad why didnt you do it strobist style? or just look back fondly and go ah I remember that!
