I agree with a lot of what you say. The only thing I've noticed is the battery drain seems faster with the grip fitted. On it's own I can get about 1000 shots from a single charge. The grip only gives me about 800. Because of this I tend to use the grip only in certain circumstances, preferring to carry a spare battery in my pocket. However, if I want the IR remote control ...!
