Where else would I have gotten feedback on my work from Elizabeth Avedon, Brian Griffin and Peter Dench, just to name three of the people who take time to regularly look at my work?

I get exposed to professional work and hear about upcoming exhibitions and books before they are announced, for me that is one of many reasons that facebook works. Also as I am in college Mon-Thursday full time it is easier for me to access facebook and is quicker and more user friendly.
I think it's great that you've had such positive response but I'm willing to bet that it's down to plenty of work/activity from you. It's undoubtedly easier to use FB but that doesn't mean it's necessarily better - it's easy to say you "Like" something (ironically, the one shot I put up there you were the sole "Like" - so thanks for that! )

Demands on our time, whether imposed on us or by choice, mean less and less time on each activity and FB definitely fits. But over the years, the 2 minute culture has become the 2 second culture and FB suits this culture but is inevitably extremely shallow and frothy. And yes, I do look into DCW on FB but everything is linear without any structure, disappears quickly and just parrots what's in their magazines and forums. They obviously must get advertising revenue from it - but then so do rubbish programmes on TV!

There are many tools out there and FB can be counted as one (I'm on there somewhere but not as a 'tog - I use it socially), like Twitter (great for running a revolution but otherwise it's mainly just textual graffiti!).
