LOL! FB's the domain of spotty teenagers - but not bad for specialist niche areas of interest (just as long as they benefit from a blog/timeline style of input - which is why FB's new timeline makes sense as it's always been that way). Scattergun approach with images and articles don't do anything for me - I prefer a structure
I'm not a spotty teenager and neither are the 400+ friends I have on my facebook page. In fact they are all serious photographers who work in the field. Maybe facebook used to be a place for teens but nowadays its a credible business and networking tool . Where else would I have gotten feedback on my work from Elizabeth Avedon, Brian Griffin and Peter Dench, just to name three of the people who take time to regularly look at my work?
I get exposed to professional work and hear about upcoming exhibitions and books before they are announced, for me that is one of many reasons that facebook works. Also as I am in college Mon-Thursday full time it is easier for me to access facebook and is quicker and more user friendly.
