Thank you very much for your reply, iv decided on going for a Bridge camera as one of the options you have advised and have been looking around some more and come to the conclusion that something like this would be best Fujifilm FinePix S4000.
Going by the review most are very happy and is more than within my price range so I can get a decent SD card and camera bag as well with still £100 left of my budget.
