Considering that the D700 Pro camera has had its manufacture discontinued because of a design flaw on health grounds, it remains to be seen if the D800 and its dearer alternative, D800e, matches the D700's Specification from a photographical point of view. I was budgeting on buying the D700 sometime next year, but I am tempted to go for the D800e since I have an interest in Landscape and Nature Photography, rather than Studio Work (which is what the D3x was designed for)! northumbrian1
