Pretending that I've carried out the tests mentioned in this thread, and you all think it still doesn't focus properly. Could it be that I need a new camera body or new lens?

What tests could I do (without using a newspaper). I was thinking about
THIS test. I've printed out the chart.
I took the lens on holiday with me in November last year. I took the following shot (its been processed through photoshop) and I think the left side of the photo is soft compared to the right.
