For me it's all about exploration and pushing myself, about trying to find a photograph in the most mundane curcumstances.
When you get out of bed at 10am, get dressed and go straight to work, have 1 hour break and then get home at 10.30-11.00pm, there is very little opportunity to take a photo, so you have to think outside the box, and turn something into an oportunity.
Often this means not getting out my camera gear at all; most of my shots have been taken on my iPhone or compact. I'm using a discovering more Apps to use and process shots.
Every walk into town I'm looking for shots, household implements, my family & pets, I've stopped the car on the way home, gotten out and taken a shot & I;d not normally do that. I've taken the camera to choir rehearsals & taken a photo of them singing. If all else fails there's always self portraits.
I'm using gear I haven't used for ages; my Canon nifty fifty I haven't ever used on my 5D MkII, that's over 2 years ago since I last used it. I've now used it on 3 shots because I can hand hold it at f1.8 in the kitchen under the normal kitchen light. I used the extension rings with the 50 f1.8 which I've not used for a long time.
Some of my shots I've been more than pleased with, some are acceptable and some are more 'that'll do', but overall I'm getting a lot out of it.
