Photoshop coverage
Like most other mags, we do feature Photoshop and Elements pretty much exclusively. It's not ideal, but there are two reasons:
1) They are very good. In general, we try to stick to Elements because Photoshop is so expensive. Besides, there's not really that much you can do in Photoshop that you can't do in Elements.
2) It's what the vast majority of people use. Elements and Photoshop offer the closest thing there is to a 'standard' way of editing images. Other programs are very good, but they have different tools and different features, and if we featured these we'd leave most readers out. And we don't really want to show the same technique twice (or more) just to cover every application.
We're not deliberately leaving out users of other software, it's just that this approach reaches the largest number of people.
