II ACFA Photographic Contest
The Photographic Cultural Association of Avilés (
www.fotoastur.com), with the collaboration of Council of Avilés, El Corte Inglés of Avilés, Cajastur, Banco Herrero and Gráficas Careaga, summons the Second (II) ACFA Photographic Contest, which will be governed by the next bases.
Competitors:
All professional or non-professional photographers, can participate, regardless their nationality or country, except members of Photographic Cultural Association from Avilés.
Size and Technique:
Authors may submit a maximum of 5 photos, with a free thematic, in colour or B&W, with no award at any other photographic contest. Photos only can be presented by their authors. Photos, must be sent in JPG format, with a size of 800 px in the big side, and resolution of 96ppp. Inside
www.fotoastur.com, you can download an Photoshop action, to resize the image with this parameters. Signatures, frames or text over the photos will be not allowed. All the photos who get into the second phase, must be sent to the organization in maximum 7 days from the notification, with a minimum size of 1575px (20 centimetres) in the shortest side, and 200ppp of resolution. The non-completion of this point, means the disqualification from the contest.
Sending the Works
All the work participating in this contest must be sent by mail to

In each delivery, must be sent with the photo, the following points in text format file (Word, wordpad, .txt, etc)

In case of choose the cd or dvd option, must be included two folders. One of them (High resolution), which must be included the works with the minimum size of 1575px (20 centimetres) in their shorter side and 200ppp. In the other folder (Low resolution) must be included the works with the size of 800px in the longer side and a resolution of 96ppp. Must be included, the text file indicated forward.
Reception of works
Last day of reception of works, both mail or cd or dvd, will be december 08th (2009)
Awards:
- First Award: 300€ + gift card El Corte Inglés of 100€, and a Book donated by Banco Herrero.
- Second Award: 200€ + gift card El Corte Inglés of 100€, and a Book donated by Banco Herrero.
- Third Award: 100€ + gift card El Corte Inglés of 100€, and a Book donated by Banco Herrero.
- Accesit: Will be 5 accesits with a trophy donated by Cajastur
Jury:
The jury will be formed by professional photographers and members from Photographic Cultural Association of Avilés
Once the reception period has finalised, a selection of works will pass to a second phase, in which will be elected the finalists and the awarded works
While the second fortnight of December, awarded authors will be notificated, having 7 days from the notification, to send the same photos with a minimum size of 1575px (20 centimetres) in the shorter side, and 200ppp of resolution.
All the works who are not held by organization in the established period or not meet this conditions, will be disqualificated.
The Jury's verdict will be non-appealable, and if the works presented have not the desired level, the awards can be declare as desert. Jury's verdict will be public, in the second fortnight of december, in Avilés. The exact date of the verdict will be published in the web
