I like the mag, but it does not tell me anything about what makes Nikon different, better, worse or perhaps easier to use than other makes.
I have paid for a years subscription, so I will see what happens.
Glad you have described to subscribe and give us a chance. However, must pick you up on a couple of your comments - as they might be misleading to those who have not seen the magazine yet...
Although 100% Nikon, we do and will cover other lenses and accessories that will work with a Nikon body. Our lens tests in issues 1 & 2 for instance cover the full range of options for Nikon users - inculding Nikkor, Sigma, Tamron and so on. This is because many Nikon users use non-Nikon accessories. However, unlike other photo magazines we won't include Canon, Sony, Pentax lenses that will never work on your Nikon...
We assume that all our readers have Nikon SLRs - and therefore have already made the decision that Nikon is best. We don't therefore waste pages extolling the relative merits of, say the D7000, over other manufacturers semi-pro models. Our interview pages, pro features and reader pages do make constant reference to the rich heritage of the Nikon system- and why particular photographers chose the mode that they did.
Our view is that a 100% Nikon mag makes us less generic than other photo magazines. We can use the names of features as you find them on Nikons, and show images of the buttons and screens that you find on your Nikon. And every picture in the mag is shot on a Nikon camera..And we can do very Nikon specific things - such as our 12-part guide to Nikon Capture NX2
Hope you enjoy your subscription - and will be glad to hear your thoughts as to how we are progressing
Happy new year
