Hi Mark , thanks for taking the time to comment. You're right about the floodlights, its so annoying and a pain. I toyed with the idea of making 2 seperate exposures of the same scene. Underexposing the floodlights on one and then blending them so the floodlights would look correct but I was freezing and just wanted to make some shots and get home in the warm! :-) Maybe I could underexpose in raw? I took these a couple of nights ago and wanted to go back today but the weather has just been miserable and very windy. I do think these sort of places look amazing at night but given the right sky and hopefully steam it might look okay in the day too :-)
