I don't use Elements, neither do I own a Nikon D3. However, my general line of thinking could apply to both i.e. in your case visit the Adobe site and make a comparison between what you have now and what the later version has to offer. If you are quite happy with the version that you are currently using and the additional features are something that you would in all probability never use then why upgrade. Sorry if I appear a bit blunt here as that really isn't my intention, but all too often one reads/hears of people upgrading (cameras or software) simply because it's on offer without really taking into consideration as to whether they actually need or would use the additional features. I shudder to think the amount of people who have chosen the full version of Photoshop CS4, paid a small fortune for it and are lucky if they even use or even explore 20% of it's potential.
