See, I'd read 1 as being "god awful, don't touch this product with a bargepole" and 3 as "OK, maybe start considering it, but there might be better products for the money"
How about a hybrid reviewing score - and overall percentage based on more scientific and measurable (and less subjective) criteria, and a breakdown / comparison of features and perception with each on a 1-5 scale. Whilst a non-articulated screen might lower an element of the features score, it wouldn't affect the overall percentage.
