I went with the 100mm f2.8 L so that I could use it as a portrait lens as well as a macro. I have a 7D and a 5D2 and use the lens on both. On the 5D2 it seems better as a portrait lens than it does a macro lens and its brilliant as a macro lens.
I'm getting an MP-E65 for christmas and can't wait to have a play about with that. Might have to find some bugs and put them in the fridge for a while with that though as its going to be a nightmare shooting handheld when the little critters are running about full speed.
