Canon 1100D vs Rebel T3

I am about to enter the world of DSLR cameras and have looked at various specifications of makes and models and have identified the Canon 1100D as the one I want. So I started looking around for places to buy it and have found one on a well known auction site for £330 new and it has the IS lens. Brilliant I thought until I noticed it is the Rebel T3 model and not the 1100D.

It is said to be in Brighton and comes with next day delivery and a years warranty but the sellers shop says he is in the US - Hence the T3 model for sale (i guess).

So because of this I started to look around a bit more for an 1100D model with the IS lens which is nigh on impossible, and certainly will cost me more.

I am hoping to get a camera and memory card for about £350 and that wont be possible if I get an 1100D model. Therefore, should I be put off the T3 because it is the T3 not the 1100D? Apart from the IS lens, are there any other specification differences? Will UK bought lenses fit OK?

Any tips or advise would be great.

Thanks
