I use PS 5, so unfortunately I can't answer your question about which is better, between LR3 and CS3. I'd hazard a guess that LR3 would be better, but this assumption is based purely on the fact that CS3 is at least 4 year old. Actually, I'm pretty sure JimmyOsram (Paul) uses Lightroom, he's a very accomplished seascape photographer so it might be useful to get his opinion if he passes by.
Why don't you download the free 30 day trial of LR 3 and see how you get on with it. Ultimately only you can decide which is better for you.

Cheers Nick for that. Ironically as we speak the price of LR3 has been dramatically dropped to approx. 90 quid possibly due to the new LR3.5 release??
That is just too attractive so off i go to grab this box of witchcraft. I was really impressed with LR1 [even tho it couldnt do my RAW ] thus i'm really looking forward to receiving this item.
