Mr Pedant here: TIFFs also have a colourspace associated with them!

But whatever is used make sure that it's saved in sRGB if you display on the web - otherwise the colours may be a little muted. But AdobeRGB has a slightly wider gamut - hence the suggested setting and the often use in printing
