As hard as I try I can't see that those chairs add anything to the image , I would agree with you if they were in keeping with the surroundings but their not they look like they have been dumped there .
I'm not looking to clear the place for the sake of a clean view , if the foreground was full of stuff that looked like it should be there then fine but those chairs don't .
I also don't think that if it was clear it would be in any way sanitized but I think it would add an extra sense of grandeur to the image .
