Know the area well, if not specifically. As shots go, it's not a bad shot - interesting enough view and sky and at least it's naturally without shadow as opposed to, shudder, an HDR'd view. But, like so may landscapes you see, it really needs something else to retain the interest: a better angle on the track, something on the track, an interesting patch of light, some foreground interest, etc. Personally, I might've tried moving over to the right, so the track enters closer to the corner and wanders more diagonally across the image
