"As I have just really got interested in photography, I hardly know the basics about anything, I know how to edit my pictures in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, and that's about it.
Improving your own ability with the camera equipment of your choice is far better than relying on post production techniques to "fix" things later.
"It would really help if you could give me some help and tips when taking photo's, etc."
I assume this is a genuine question, but it's not one that anyone can give you a short answer to. The best thing you can do is pick a few of the images you have taken that you consider to be your favourites, publish them in the critique sections of this forum and ask for critcal advice
"I am also looking to buy a camera that would be more ideal than the one I have at the moment, so any suggestions, or things that I should look for when buying a camera would help loads."
I can't imagine what camera you have now, so I can't offer any advice what camera may be "better" suited to you. Let us know what you are using now, and what camera you think you need to improve your ability. You may not need to upgrade at all just yet.
