Hi all - to clarify, there's no limit to the number of images you can enter, though it probably pays to be a bit selective.

In terms of timing, we don't insist that the image is taken between the day the magazine goes on sale and the deadline, as in many cases, the challenge is time or season-senstive, and overseas readers - who make up a high percentage of Digital Camera's readers - don't have the same seasons and/or calendar of events as we have in the UK (the Air Shows mission, which will be published in our upcoming issue, is a good example of this).

There's also an issue of policing it: in theory, we could check the exif data for every entry to check when they were taken, but with hundreds of images to judge every month, this would be very time-consuming, and in many cases the data may not even be available, so there'd be no way of checking. In an ideal world, it would be great if it was treated as a 'Mission' in the literal sense, but we realise that this isn't always feasible (it might, for example, be pouring with rain on the day of an air show, for example).

I hope that helps clear things up, but I'd welcome any thoughts or comments.

Thanks,

Paul
