Again, the author is the only one that can tell you how the scene was metered. However, the camera was set to partial metering and the mode was set full manual. I don't recall seeing any EV compensation. It's possible the author relied on the metering within the camera to set the shot up, then could have compensated settings manually to achieve the shot she wanted, but as I said, only she can tell you that.
