Jim, I'm not familiar with the P2211H and can't find any professional reviews of it, just some feedback from pleased owners on Amazon. According to PCBuyIt it has a TN panel whereas the U2311H has an e-IPS panel, which is generally better regarded for photo-editing but not so fast for games, etc.

Ashleyj both purchased Dell U2311H monitors a couple of months ago. Why don't you pm them to see what they think of them? - or they might be reading this thread and respond here.
At home I use an Eizo EV2333W which gives excellent image quality but is not suited to games, etc. It's around £350 which is not cheap, but a lot less expensive than the pro Eizo's I use at work.
I agree with KeithT's comments re size.
