It seems to me that so few people use this site (the galleries in particular) is because it is just so poorly designed. Hardly anyone rates pictures so why not scrap rating and just leave comments and a "like" button which members can tick if they like a picture and don't want to comment. When viewing your own pictures to see what response they got it shouldn't be that difficult to have a figure showing how many "likes" a picture notched up as well as how many viewings.
My feeling is that the site does not encourage people to participate in the galleries because it does not meet their requirements. I suspect that most people do not want critique and rating of their pictures they just want to show others what they are doing and to see what others are doing.
