So the discussion has boiled down to one of space?
Space on the cloud is relatively cheap so shouldn't really be an issue, and limitations on file sizes
can be put in place and enforced to protect space anyway. Bandwidth is usually the expensive cost and that's being paid for already anyway - whichever method is used. However, if the cost of space is an issue then this can be catered for by having a fixed GB limit on members galleries with additional charge for extra GB if required. This would also have the advantage of pushing the onus of managing their photo's onto a member and not using the site as a dumping ground or PR exercise.
So the question to Marcus now becomes:- "Why don't you turn attachments on for registered members?", "What is the reasoning behind limiting this functionality?"
