Many thanks for all the tips.
I think I'm going for a 70-300mm in the first instance. I enjoy motorsport photography (and have a fair bit of experience using borrowed kit). I'd like a 400mm lense, but that looks outside my price range.
I've seen Nikon Nikkor AF 70-300mm on sale for £80. Is that right?! It seems awfully cheep.
Then maybe a 10-20mm next
