Tips? Well, I don't do much macro (a decent macro lens is top of my wish list).
I suppose the best advice is to practice. Have a look at the
macro section of the forum. Then pick a subject and keep shooting. You'll probably find a tripod useful a lot of the time and you'll learn a lot about depth of field and focusing as well!
